About the event

Dr. Nicholas A. Wheeler, a beloved Professor of Physics at Reed College for 47 years, was not only an inspiring teacher but also a brilliant theorist, scientist, cellist, writer, and woodworker. Among his many talents, he crafted a stunning French Double Harpsichord, which will be transported to the Eliot Chapel specifically for this memorial concert. The audience will have the unique opportunity to view a short film featuring Dr. Wheeler discussing the process of building this beautiful instrument and its special features.

The concert will feature soprano Elina Avanesyan and pianist/harpsichordist Anastasia Kitaev, who will present a classical program spanning from the Baroque to Modern eras, performed in five languages. The event will take place in the elegant, European-style Eliot Chapel Concert Hall.

Refreshments:

Following the concert, refreshments will be offered to guests.

Parking Information:
